Whenever there’s the possibility to take some time off, I love to travel to the sun, to someplace where I can enjoy the good weather, good food, good shops (yup, still a girl behind the camera), and good company. And if possible: where I can enjoy beauty of a totally different area than that of the Netherlands and Belgium. So that is exactly what I did a few weeks ago: my love and I made a trip to Nice, where we enjoyed the sun, swam in the sea that can only be this blue at the Côte d’Azur, enjoyed shopping and eating (both my luggage and I gained 4 kilo’s), and enjoyed the amazing colors of the cities beautiful buildings.
Some things need to be mentioned: if you love icecream, Italy is not only the best place to go. On every corner of the street in the Vieille Ville of Nice there is a gelateria with at least 20 tastes of ice cream, and those were the small ones. This is probably one of the reasons for the extra kilo’s (on me, not in the luggage).
The extra kilo’s in our luggage were part of our shopping trip to Monaco, where I strolled down the streets in a long red dress and bought myself a big hat against the sun and felt like Princess Grace. Ofcourse, our budget led us to Zara instead of Hermes, Chanel or Armani, but hey, you can’t have everything.
But the top of the bill of this trip for me was our visit to Villa Ephrussi de Rothshild. I’ve dreamt about a trip to this villa when I saw the photos of a wedding (what else) there of one of my big heroes Greg Finck, and since then it is my personal dream and goal to shoot a wedding there (or have my own? I’ll have to add something to my savings first I guess..). But for now, a simple visit was enough, and I wasn’t disappointed. I really advice everyone to go there and enjoy the pink building with 100 year old beauty!
